July Tournament Success: Massive 28 - Medal Haul for TATU TKD Students!

July has officially been a historic month of competition for the TATU TKD family. Our dedicated competitors stepped onto the mats at two major regional events -the Welsh Open and the AETA League - and delivered an absolute masterclass in perseverance, advanced technique, and team spirit.
In total, across both events, our outstanding students brought home an astounding total medal haul of 28 medals! More importantly, every single student who stepped up overcame tournament nerves, faced highly skilled opponents, and grew significantly as martial artists.
Participating in children's martial arts tournaments in Wokingham and across the UK isn’t just about collecting trophies; it’s about testing your personal limits. Here is how our incredible squads conquered the mats this month.
Precision Performance at the Welsh Open 2026
Our first stop of the month took a select group of dedicated fighters across the border to the prestigious Welsh Open. Facing elite-level competition from across the country, our squad proved that quality and focused training always triumph.
Team TATU secured a fantastic clean sweep of the podium places:
🥇 1 GOLD medal
🥈 1 SILVER medal
🥉 1 BRONZE medal
A massive shout-out goes to Coach Mr. Turner and Assistant Coach Mr. Turner Junior for their brilliant tactical guidance mat-side. Their leadership kept our fighters calm, focused, and strategic throughout some incredibly tense bouts. We also owe a huge debt of gratitude to the amazing parents who gave up their Saturday to travel, support the team, and cheer loudly from the stands. You made the day truly special!
Smashing Records at the AETA League
If the Welsh Open was about precision, the AETA League in Tonbridge was an absolute explosion of team dominance. Stepping out into a packed arena, Team TATU faced two major opponents: highly skilled rival martial artists and a scorching summer heatwave.
Despite the intense temperatures inside the venue, our phenomenal students rose to the occasion with true martial arts spirit, pushing through the exhaustion to claim a staggering 25 medals! Team TATU secured a fantastic clean sweep of the podium places:

🥉 12 BRONZE medal
